A blend of genetic, environmental, and mental health factors can cause anxiety. It can be triggered by stressful events such as personal trauma or significant lifestyle changes. Genetics and neurochemical factors also contribute to its development. Typical signs of anxiety include constant worry, an inability to relax, and physical issues such as a heightened heart rate, excessive sweating, and tense muscles. Furthermore, those affected may struggle with concentration, exhibit irritability, and have problems with sleep. Recognizing and managing these factors and symptoms are critical for the proper treatment and management of anxiety.

Take back your life seemed cheesy to me but seriously I did TMS in July and as of October my life is totally different. I was barely able to get out of bed and I was so broken. Going all in with Serenity has totally changed my life. I remember around week three waking up and feeling weird and realizing I had never woken up and been happy. Back in June I could barely function now I wake up and I am happy I be alive and able to process my emotions and build Bette habits and relationships. For me it worked 100%. It definitely is a lot of work. I made sure I never missed a day and there were occasional challenges to work around with insurance and finding the right tech and schedule but you got this. You deserve to be happy.

Are generalized anxiety disorder and general anxiety the same thing?

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) differs from everyday anxiety, which is a normal reaction to stressful or uncertain situations. General anxiety is characterized by more intense and continuous worry about routine events, often without a clear reason. Patients with GAD frequently face excessive concern that they find difficult to control, setting it apart from the typical anxiety experienced by others.

What can I do if my partner has anxiety?

If your partner is dealing with anxiety, recognizing that it isn't something they can just be dismissed is crucial. Providing the right support, help, and understanding can enable your partner to better navigate and possibly overcome these challenges. If your partner is struggling with anxiety, there are several things you can do to help:

  • Reassure them that everything will be alright
  • Remain calm and patient
  • Avoid making them feel guilty
  • Ask about how you can assist them at the moment
Does anxiety run in families?

If a family member suffers from generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), your chances of experiencing anxiety might be higher. Research indicates that genetic factors play a role in this increased risk, though the exact mechanisms of how the disorder is passed down within families are not fully understood.
