Take back your life seemed cheesy to me but seriously I did TMS in July and as of October my life is totally different. I was barely able to get out of bed and I was so broken. Going all in with Serenity has totally changed my life. I remember around week three waking up and feeling weird and realizing I had never woken up and been happy. Back in June I could barely function now I wake up and I am happy I be alive and able to process my emotions and build Bette habits and relationships. For me it worked 100%. It definitely is a lot of work. I made sure I never missed a day and there were occasional challenges to work around with insurance and finding the right tech and schedule but you got this. You deserve to be happy.

Is PTSD common?

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a significant mental health issue impacting millions globally. In the United States, it's estimated that 6-9 percent of the population will experience PTSD at some point. This condition is notably common among veterans and first responders due to their regular exposure to traumatic events. Civilians who have endured severe trauma, such as assaults, natural disasters, serious accidents, or the sudden loss of a loved one, are also at a high risk. Growing awareness of PTSD has led to the creation of more effective treatments and support systems.

How do PTSD symptoms vary between children and adults?

PTSD symptoms manifest differently in children and adults, largely influenced by age and developmental stage. Younger children might show distress through increased clinginess, new fears, or regressive behaviors. School-aged children may struggle with academic performance and have trouble sleeping. Teenagers often exhibit risky behaviors, withdraw socially, or experience intense mood swings. Recognizing these age-specific symptoms is essential for providing the right support and interventions tailored to each developmental stage.

What factors increase the likelihood of developing PTSD?

Several factors can heighten the risk of developing PTSD after experiencing trauma. Those with a history of mental health issues, previous traumatic experiences, or a genetic predisposition are more susceptible. The severity and duration of the trauma, as well as the immediate availability and quality of support, are critical factors. Personal perceptions of the trauma, such as feelings of helplessness, also significantly impact the risk. Conversely, having a robust support network can reduce the likelihood of developing PTSD, while a lack of support can increase vulnerability.
